Okay, here it is: We've got something really, really cool for you today! You and I (and you and you and you) are about to demonstrate, in clear, vibrant detail, the global desire for peace and connection. We're asking each of you to put a virtual pin on this funky -- but functional! -- Frappr map, and click on "Email this" at the bottom of this post to send the invitation to your friends and relatives FAR and NEAR, til the map is full of people around the world who are all saying, "Yes, we want to consider new possibilities for peace."
Think of it as a new kind of peace demonstration. (When we thought of that a week ago we could barely contain ourselves. Get it? It's a peace demonstration!) It's a show of hands around the world, visible connections among many people all voicing that single intention that we've been talking about at HumanKind: to consider the possibilities for more peace in our families, workplaces, communities, countries, and our shared global community. (If you're new to HumanKind, check out "Why we started" on the right side of this page.)
Here's how to add yourself:
- Click on the gray "stats, pics, members" bar at the bottom of the map, which will take you to a larger view of the map.
- Click on the blue link that says "Hi! Please add yourself" in the bubble that appears over the pin.
- Type in your first name or alias, and if you can, add a picture. It seems like the "members--pics and e-mail-- stay on the map and the visitors don't. You don't have to enter your good e-mail but if you do, you'll get an e-mail from Frappr.
- Once you add yourself, if the pin isn't in the right place you can move it by clicking on "move this pin" and typing in your city, state, and country.
- After you're added, you can zoom in and out, look for new and old friends, and of course, click on "Email this" at the bottom of this post to invite even more people (FAR and NEAR) to add themselves to the map!
There will be no cookies, literally or figuratively, or junk mail from us; you're not consenting to anything, petitioning anything, or committing to anything. You're not getting anything free -- no coupons, airline miles, or grains of rice donated to ease world hunger (wish we'd thought of that!). This is all about increasing the possibilities for peace by connecting with others who want peace also. We think you'll experience a small but significant moment, a realization of the shared global intention to explore possibilities for peace and healing.
Can a blog and its readers stage a worldwide "peace demonstration" in the spirit of possibility and connection? Click and see. Then stay tuned over the next days, weeks, months -- whatever it takes to cover that map!
Peace and love,
Chris and Liz
